Preservation
Indigenous Manuscript Database		Myanmar Book Centre gives high emphasis on preservation of ancient Myanmar manuscripts in palm leaves and paper folded manuscripts which is known as Parabaik. All these works are done under our not for profit arm of the company called Myanmar Book Aid and Preservation Foundation (www.MyanmarBookFoundation.org). Our works are recognized and supported by many international organizations such as University of Washington State, Toyota Foundation and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. This type of work is the first in Myanmar and is one and only preservation work done by a private institution.
Check-List of Selected Palm-Leaf		We tried to preserve the text from thousands of old and traditional manuscripts so that scholars are able to study online free of charge. Preservation are done by mean of digitization and these digitized text are made into searchable databases. We preserved not only Myanmar manuscripts but also ethnic Shan and Mon manuscripts. The scanned images of over 10,000 can be accessed on our Indigenous Manuscripts. Our last project which ended in 2014 is also very useful for scholars and researchers. It is a checklist of all the manuscripts which are scatted all over the country. We made these data sheets into searchable database so that users are able to search them easily and pinpoint their location such as at a monastery or a library. This database covers over (12,000) checklist. Both of the above mentioned databases are sponsored by the Toyota Foundation.
