Akyab is one of the four districts forming the Arakan Division of Lower Burma.

Its area is 5,136 square miles and it lies between the Arakan Yomas and the Bay of Bengal.

The district is between 19º 47´ and 21º 27' north latitude and 92° 11´ and 93° 58´ east longitude.
