The city was founded by King Thadoeminphya on the 7th
waxing day of Ta-baung, 726 ME (27 Jan. 1365), by King
Nyaungyan in 963 ME (1601), by King Sinphyushin in 1126
ME (1764), and by King Bagyidaw on the 4th waning day
of Waso, 1183 ME (18 June 1821).
